The Guanacaste Mountain Range is a region of privileged landscapes, warm weather, a variety of ecosystems and home to a significant number of protected areas including dense dry tropical forests, and primary rain, and cloud forests.
The Tenorio River flows from these highlands to empty into the Nicoya Gulf through an impressive canyon with an abundance of wildlife in its riverbanks.
It is located at only 2 hours from the Guanacaste Golden Beaches make it a perfect adventure activity from the most important beach resorts.
Before you get into to the river, you will be provided with life vests, helmets and paddles. Also, you will receive a very thorough safety briefing that will explained you the different commands that you have to follow during the river trip to make this tour a great but safe experience.
This tremendous experience takes approximately 2 hours and will make you admire outstandingly beautiful sceneries while you paddle down the river (8 miles) against many strong currents Class III / IV, that will make you scream and laugh as never you did before while your adrenaline raise high.
On the way there are some places to jump out, swim and enjoy the wildlife to see including monkeys, reptiles and tropical birds.
This river trip finishes with a great surprise: a 10-foot waterfall drop which is the perfect complement for an exhilarating day.

The day of the excursion, you should go to the lobby of your selected hotel and please look for our staff dressed with bright orange shirt and green pants.
Approximate Pick Up Time: Between 06:40am to 07:50am, depending on the selected hotel
Approximate Duration: 9 hours
Approximate Drop Off Time: Between 16:00pm to 16:30pm, depending on the selected hotel
Recommendations: Quick-Dry Swimwear, slip-resistant water shoes (Flip-flops are not allowed), change of clothes sun visor hat or similar, Sunglasses for water sports with UV protection, Sunscreen, insects repellent and Go Pro camera.
In case of passengers with reduced mobility, heart or respiratory problems, epilepsy, overweight, or women in any stages of pregnancy, please advise us in advance in order to take the previsions and provide them with the best possible care.
Children Policy: Children from 0-11 years are not allowed.
Important Remarks: This is a regular basis tour that operates with a pre-established schedule and requires a minimum of 2 passengers to operate and maximum of 70 passengers. Maximum passengers per guide/raft: 6 passengers.
In the event of extreme weather conditions, such as extreme rainfall, the excursion may be cancelled prior to your scheduled departure time. Should severe weather occur while you are on the tour, it will be discontinued for security reasons.

If the Cancelation is advised between 48 to 24 hrs before the service, it will apply a 20% charge of penalty
If cancelation is advised with less than 24 hours before the service, it will apply a 100% of penalty
In case of no show, the service will have a penalty of 100%
