With more than 45 thousand acres of protected land, there are a significant number of aquatic ecosystems, where life develops with exuberance and not in vain, it has been declared one of the most beautiful wetlands of international importance because of its exceptional ecological value.

Early in the morning, the guide and touristic transportation will be waiting for you at your selected resort to travel (2 hours and 30 minutes ride) through a countryside of savannas, sugar plantations, and small villages.

On the way, you will have a short visit (30 minutes) to a hidden waterfall called Llanos de Cortes, this impressive 12meters cascade is surrounded with an exuberant jungle and offers the perfect sitting for spectacular photographs.

Afterward, you will continue until reach a local dock where you will embark on a comfortable safari-boat which navigates slowly down the river.

During the 2 hours boat-ride (will vary according to water levels) you will experience the peacefulness of the nature while the professional guide help you to spot the hidden secrets of the tropical forest; groups of monkeys moving and jumping quickly between the branches, sloth’s, iguanas, huge crocodiles and numerous of resident and migratory birds feeding in the riverbanks.

After the boat trip, a delicious Costa Rican lunch awaits for you, and afterwards, you will continue to Liberia City the capital of Guanacaste province and where you will learn about its history and culture.
